Graduate student Fu noticed that among certain quasars, those with an extended region of gaseous emissions as large as the galaxy itself, gas near the black hole was unusually low in the heavier elements and made up almost purely of hydrogen and helium. Though the mechanics of quasars had been observed indirectly, Fu and Stockton sought to discover the nature of the gas that fuels these hungry titans. Research into quasars has helped astronomers develop a picture of galaxy formation in the first billion years after the Big Bang. Its primary mission was to visit Pluto which at the time of launch (2006), Pluto was still a planet. Some of the light emitted by older quasars dates back to the early days of the universe. The New Horizons space probe is the fastest probe that we've sent into space at the time of writing. A note about the calculations, when I'm talking about years, I'm talking non-leap years only (365 days). has done some calculations as to how long it will take going at differing speeds. The time it will take to travel to this star is dependent on how fast you are going.

Travel Time to 3c 186, Rogue Supermassive Black Hole Although visible eye stars can go to 6.5 in magnitude, the dimmest star for this will be a 6.0. For avoidance of confusion, the nearest star is the nearest star that can be seen without the air of binoculars or telescope on a 2D plane without distance being involved. Nearest Night Sky StarĪs a guide, the nearest naked eye visible star to the quasar is DU Lyncis. A negative value indicates it is in the southern hemisphere. The Declination is the angle of the object from the celestial equator. If the number is negative, it is "west" of the March Equinox. As rough guide, the location is located in the constellation of Pisces. The Right Ascension is the angular distance of an object along the celestial equator from the March Equinox. New Australiaģc 186, Rogue Supermassive Black Hole Location If you were to able to travel to galaxy now, it'll look a lot different to what it does in the picture from Hubble. The event occurred eight billion years ago, something that happened even before the birth of the solar system which is reckoned to be about 5 billion years. Ther amount of energy that is required to pull the SBH off centre is equivalent to 100 million supernova explosions, they in turn are many time more powerful that a star such as the Sun. The most likely theory of why the SBH is not on centre is that there is a second fainter galaxy that is pulling the visible Black Hole off-centre. The centre of the galaxy is travelling at a speed of 1,300 miles a second compared to our Sun which is travelling through the the Milky Way at a slow 15 miles a second. The picture from the hubble space telescope shows that the SBH is not in the middle, its 35,000 light years away from where it should be, towards the upper left corner. The Supermassive Black Hole (SBH) should be in the centre of the galaxy, not outside the centre. The most interesting thing about this galaxy is that the centre is off-centre. The main difference is that Quasar will have a stream of particles shooting out from the centre and will be classed as active whereas supermassive black hole will be quiet like our Milky Way. N.A.S.A.ģc 186 is sometimes referred to as a quasar and sometimes as a Supermassive black hole. 3C 186 distance from Earth is 8 Billion Light Years.Possible reason for it being off-centre is that its being pulled by another galaxy that is influencing it.The quasar is off-centre, its not where it would normally be found in a galaxy.3C 186 is a quasar galaxy in the constellation of Lynx.Interesting Facts about 3c 186, Rogue Supermassive Black Hole
